The Maids @ PHTS/NYU

I am thrilled to be playing Claire in a production of The Maids by Jean Genet, in a translation by Benedict Andrews & Andrew Upton. Produced by NYU Tisch's Playwrights Horizons Theater School, director Benny Pitt's queer envisioning of the piece will play in the White Box at 440 Lafayette, on the third floor. Reserve tickets here.

April 20 @ 9pm. April 21 @ 9pm. April 22 @ 1:30pm. April 22 @ 8:15pm.

"We're in the shit now -- arms deep -- but we're rising up, taking shape and rising up. We become real in the shit."

Dress-Up is a sacred ritual for Claire and Solange. When their mistress is away they sneak into her rooms and pretend to be her, they posture and strut to see through her pretty-picture world, and then they kill her. (But not really, it's only a game.) But what happens when playing isn't enough to survive on anymore?

Reading of Catherine Fletcher's Terminal 4 @ La MaMa

I will be reading for the role of Mike Rivera in Terminal 4 by Catherine Fletcher, developed during her residency at the La MaMa Umbria International Playwright Retreat 2016, at the La MaMa Playwrights Showcase this weekend. The reading, directed by Richard Caliban, will take place at 7:30pm on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at the La MaMa Galleria (47 Great Jones St. between Bowery and Lafayette). Admission is free. More information on La MaMa Umbria Celebrates 2017 here.

Terminal 4 is an absurdist dramedy work-in-progress that depicts seven individuals trapped at an international airport in the American Midwest during the course of a single day. Hailing from a range of cultural and economic backgrounds, the characters' lives grind to a halt through a seeming combination of a blizzard and technical failures. Interwoven with monologues by the Chorus as well as chatter from air traffic control, the play's action gradually becomes derailed as the actors playing the characters refuse to act as scripted and blur the boundaries between what's real and what's not.

Salim Salim Workshop with the Bats @ ART/NY

I'm excited to be playing Fadel in an English translation workshop of Salim Salim, an award-winning play at the Israeli Fringe Festival by Stav Palti-Negev, a Public Theater Emerging Writers Group fellow. ART/NY is located at 520 8th Ave. on the third floor. For further information on attending, please contact me directly.
